Despite the hosts hitting a combination of post & crossbar on three occasions, Joe Coughlan turned in the only goal of the game with five minutes remaining to keep the visitor's title hopes alive in a lively contest at Ballyanley. Not for the first time this season, keeper Pat McSweeney was called upon to make a number of fine saves along with the dependable Sean Grace to guarantee his team all three points.

Ross Kelly scored the only goal of the game ten minutes into the second-half to keep the Hall's hopes a league & cup double very much alive at flood-lit Moneygourney. The hosts reward is a quarter-final tie against the winners of the Cobh Wanderers/Greenwood B Fixture.

Brian Wilkinson lifted the Hall's first silverware of the season in a fine team
performance before a jubilant support at Tuirner's Cross last Friday night. In truth, the margin of
victory could have been greater but for the excellence of opposing international keeper Brendan O'Connell,
who made a number of outstanding saves particularly in the second-half to deny the rampant Hall
strike force of Simon McGarry, Derek Varian & Cillian Murphy. Murphy 's eye for goal led to the
dynamic frontrunner opening the scoring midways through the first-half, when he clinically dispatched
Wilkinson's headed pass to the back of the net.
The striker's second in the 70th minute was a gem,
this time timing his run to perfection to get between Rockmounts's central defenders and head Kevin Kelleher's
inch-perfect cross past O'Connell. Sub Mark Reardan completed a memorable night with his side's third with
seven minutes remaining to cap a thoroughly merited win for the Moneygourney based club.
The victory was just reward for the hard work put in by the management trio of Kelvin Flanagan, Philip Long & Dave Moore
along with team assistant Michael McCarthy, goalkeeping coach Alfie McCarthy

In a close opening 45 minutes, the Hall romped to victory courtesy of goals from Liam McKnight (3) & one each from Michael Nolan,, Louis Bruce, Cillian Martin & Harry O'Riordan.
U-16 Division Three Douglas Hall A 1 Grenagh Utd. 3
A Ben Fitzgerald goal wasn't enough for the Hall to garner all three points against the visitors on St. Patrick's Day at Moneygourney. The hosts still have an opportunity to finish in the top two with four matches remaining.
Youths League 1A Douglas Hall B 1 Passage 2
After David O'Connor & Gary Hartnett forced good saves from the visitor's keeper in the opening quarter, Shane Burke & Rory Prata put Passage two in front before half-time. A resurgent Hall took the game to their opponents on the resumption of the second-half, with Eric Compagno reducing the deficit on the hour mark. Despite creating a number of scoring chances, the hosts were denied by an inspired keeper and can count themselves unlucky not to have come away with a least a point.
Murphy's Youth Cup Richmond 1 Douglas Hall B 3
A brace by Mark O'Connor and a third from David O'Connor secured a quarter-final place at Waterfall last Monday morning. In a close opening quarter, both teams shared a goal apiece before the visitors gained control and should have finished further in front at the finish.

The 'Hall clawed back a two-nil first-half deficit with two goals from captain Brian Lynch, the second from the
penalty-spot after the same player was upended when put through by sub Colin Manning.

The visitors travelled to Mayfield United Park and came away with a sparkling 3-1 win in a
rousing top of the table encounter. Ryan Hunter netted twice with Jonathan O'Regan also on target

In a tie in which the Hall created plenty of openings, it was the visitors who found the net
to advance to the next round.

The Hall faced the runaway leaders on their own patch last Saturday afternoon,
and despite going two behind in the opening half the battling visitors rallied with a late
long-range strike from Niall O'Connor to force a grandstand finish.

Grangevale in a fine derby contest last Saturday night. Donie O'Connell broke the deadlock with a fine
strike ten minutes into the second-half. Ben Twomey converted Dean Kelly's inch-perfect pass in the
69th minute to guarantee a fifth clean sheet victory in-a-row for the Hall.

The Hall missed out on closing the gap on second-placed Rockmount by conceding a goal in each half.
Chris Fox hit a post and one-nil down & Killian Murphy had a legitimate appeal for a penalty turned down
in a frantic second-half.

U-11 Group 2 Mayfield United 1 Douglas Hall 2 Eamonn Kiely scored a superb lead goal and set up a second
for Evan Donlon, after his free kick was saved, as the Hall came away from Mayfield Utd with a hard fought 2-1 win.
Following Kiely's early opener, the hosts leveled direct from a free kick on the stroke of half time.
In an even second- half, two brilliant last ditch interceptions, firstly by Tomas Russell and secondly
by Andrew Cotter kept the visitors in the game until Donlon's late winner.
Jack Ryan and Alan O'Hare excelled for the winners.
U-12 Premier Douglas Hall 2 Corinthian Boys 0 Sam Gallagher & David Harrington were solid at the back for
the Hall as a classy Corinthians side applied pressure with the aid of a strong breeze in the first-half.
The break thru came around the 18th minute when a quick free kick by Joe o Connell's free
found Brian Lynch in space in the 18th minute to break the deadlock before Stan Russell added a second from a fine
left-foot drive midways through the second-half. In a huge win for the host who remain unbeaten at home
Adam Hennessy & sub Thomas Murphy shone for the winners in an excellent team display in front of the
largest home crowd of the season so far.
U14 Division 5 Douglas Hall A 3 Richmond 0 The Hall had most of the attacking play in the first-half
scoring through Padraig Hickey just before the interval. Further goals from Eric Flanagan and Ethan Bevan
in the second -half gave the home side a well deserved win. Notable performances from Declan Dovovan,
Aaron Buckley and Cathal Fanning contributed to an excellent team display.
U-15 Division One Tramore Ath. 3 Douglas Hall 0 In an evenly contested first- half, the home side
edged in front from a 35 yard strike just on the stroke of half-time. Despite conceding for a second time midways
through the second-half, the Hall put their opponents under intense before losing a third near the finish.
In a fine game of football Eoghan O'Leary, Cathal Dold & keeper Conor O'Driscoll excelled for the visitors.
U-16 Premier Douglas Hall 2 Corinthian Boys 3 The Hall were denied a share of the points with a
late goal from the visitors in a fine derby encounter. Ryan McCathy & an own goal registered the goals for
Ollie Carroll's charges, whose best on the day included Paul Lehane & Ben Collins.
U-16 Division Three Ballincollig A 1 Douglas Hall A 1 In a cracking contest at the Regional Pk.,
Fintan Cadogan struck a fabulous injury-time equalizer to cancel out the host's opener with ten minutes remaining.
Adam Gould, Paul Burke & Daniel O'Sullivan put in trojan displays for the visitors.
Ladies Match Reports
U 16 Girls Cup Semi Final
Douglas Hall played host to Midleton in the u16 Cup semi-final and emerged with a battling 2-0 win.
Hall had a few shots on goal in the opening 15 mins but they were either just wide of the post or dealt with well
by the Midleton keeper. Hall keeper Chelsea Noonan pulled off an excellent save by punching the ball over the bar.
Hall defence of Michaela O Rourke, Lauren Burke, Dervla Buttimer and Aisling Fitzgerald were outstanding,
while Emma Barber, Michelle Condon, Jade Fox and Chloe Nason in the centre supplied endless balls up front to
forwards Aoife Russell and Chloe Oldham. It was a scramble in the square after a beautiful ball in from Fox
found the feet of Oldham who finished to the net. Shortly before half-time Emma Barber took the ball down the
left wing and with a superb strike on target, Hall were 2-0 up.
Despite great efforts by Midleton in the 2nd half Hall held on to win.
Subs who contributed well when they came on were Emma Connolly, Nikita Travers, Sinead O Leary and Rebecca O Callaghan.
U 12 Div 2 League
In their 1st game in their Division 2 Douglas Hall earned their 1st win, with a 2-0 victory. in a great encounter with
Riverstown in what was an evenly matched encounter with great dislpays from both sides.
A goal in the 1st half by Emma Kearney gave Hall the lead and a great strike by Beth Flynn in the
2nd half sealed the win for Hall. Great team performance.
